ZYAD HILAL
 
With over 28 years of expertise in establishments that include world-class hotels and several upscale Hotels, Restaurants and catering company, progressive culinary professional, Zyad Hilal, made his way to lead the hospitality sector in the MENA region. His experience in various roles strengthens his insight.

Hilal started his gastronomic journey by studying Culinary Art in Beirut. He had the opportunity to kick-off his career in Italy for four years where he worked on interesting menus that fused oriental cuisine ingredients with Italian dishes. He also extended his experience in Europe by accepting a new challenge in France @lenotre- Paris where he worked at Dakar, Senegal for Sofitel for several years.

Chef and restaurateur immigrated to Kuwait in 1997, where he got promoted to Executive Chef at Lenotre Paris. He served Lenotre for 16 years filled with love and passion for food. His vast experience in the hospitality world then opened new opportunities in his horizon, bringing him to join Barakat Food Company as Corporate Executive Chef.

Hilal garnered his 28 years of expertise in various top management skills including culinary expertise, staff development, mentoring and coaching oral communication, larder control, budgeting, and catering management stock rotation, last and not list Foodservice Management: Control Systems and Related Systems” Cornell University.

His social duties in the field are fulfilled by being an active member in Kuwait Chef Club, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Academy national de cuisine, he is also the Chef Advisor for Nestle in Kuwait and forms a part of the salon culinaire organization Horeca Kuwait.

Hilal strongly believes in food art and innovation, and also believes that his passion for food played an important role in his success. “One man with a passion can do more than a hundred men with an interest” (Anonymous).
